Cardinals Care & Dept. of Communication partnership launched!

A new opportunity has arrived for communication students at Saint Louis University -- The Youth Helping Youth program. It is a partnership between the Department of Communication and Cardinals Care. The program is dedicated to giving communication students the opportunity to give back to the community. One of the ways students can get involved is through the Cardinals Care Practicum class (CMM 493).

Chipotle Achieves a World of Pure Imagination through "The Scarecrow"

In addition to being home to my favorite burrito bowl, Chipotle has made it to the top of a few other lists as well. The company has struck gold with their recent ad campaign, “The Scarecrow.” The campaign utilizes visual storytelling to promote Chipotle’s commitment to sustainability in their product. This message is conveyed through the narrative story of a scarecrow displaced from his traditional role protecting the farm.

The audience travels with the scarecrow as he witnesses the horrors of genetically modified food production at “Crow Foods.” In the end, he ultimately decides to break away from this deleterious cycle. Set to the haunting score of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory the animated spot has no dialogue.

Billiken volleyball freshman among nation's best

Freshman Mallory Dillon’s short career has proved to have a large impact for SLU Volleyball this season.

Dillon is among the nation’s top Freshman currently ranking 22nd in NCAA statistics for her 4.26 kills per set. This places her second in Atlantic-10 standings and first overall for the Billikens. Dillon has also earned All-Tournament team plaudits for her performance at both the Comfort Inn Innvitational and the Billiken Challenge. She garnered the first weekly award of the season for SLU, named Atlantic-10 Rookie of the week for the period of Sept. 2-8.
